At present, AMOLED is applied to large and high resolution products because of its smaller power consumption and longer life of light emitting devices. It has become the mainstream driving mode of OLED. In terms of performance, the self luminous properties of OLED can effectively reduce the power consumption. The structure of organic materials makes the screen thinner, lighter, flexibly displayed, the imaging effect is higher, the response speed is faster, the overall performance is better than LCD, and the LCD will become the mainstream in the future.
Material and technological breakthroughs help OLED flexible, mature and promising. The realization of flexible screen mainly depends on the flexibility and reliability of key materials. It is embodied in many parts such as screen substrate, cover plate, hinge and so on, forming 3 main technical difficulties: 1) the flexible screen with the core of organic material. 2) packaging technology. 3) reliability and life of hinge design. At present, although the OLED materials and technologies have made important breakthroughs, the relevant schemes are still in the stage of continuous improvement. It is recommended to pay attention to the following progress: 1) luminous lifetime; 2) reliability of CPI cover plate; 3) hinge life and yield; 4) battery life. With the first batch of folding phones entering the mass production stage, we believe that under the drive of market expectations and terminal manufacturers, the related technologies will be further improved, and the mature scheme will be available in the future.
Smart phone application is the top priority, and the cost is expected to gradually decrease. Large screen display is still the main theme of future development, but now it is not sustainable by increasing screen size and increasing screen occupation ratio. The introduction of flexible folding screen still maintains a strong portability on the basis of the increase of screen size, breaking through the bottleneck of "big size + portability". At present, the price of flexible folding mobile phone is mainly due to the difficulty of production, which leads to higher prices. With the further maturity of flexible OLED technology and the increase of yield, the demand for units will increase and the unit cost will decrease.
The development space is broad, and the promotion of permeability leads to shuffle. In the future, under the new application scenario of "5G+ flexible OLED", OLED is expected to develop in 2 directions: 1) enrich the terminal application form, enter the fields of household appliances, electronic products, automobiles, medical treatment and so on; 2) realize the screen bending and curling in any direction, that is, "curling screen". With the further expansion of applications, OLED penetration is expected to continue to improve, leading the industrial chain to usher in structural opportunities.
